Why the lid matches the listing
Workshops come back because the listing matches the crate. The engine they see is the engine that ships, the price is on the page, and the inspection notes travel with the order.
Every listing is shot in the workshop. Brackets, sensors, and the turbo stay as they are on that engine. If something is missing, it is missing in the pictures, and we say so before you pay.
You can look through several angles, from the front of the block to the mounting face, and ask about anything that is not obvious in the frame.
Compression is compared cylinder to cylinder. Leak-down is noted where the test was run. Oil pressure is checked, and the sump is looked at for metal. Those notes stay with the order, so a later question is answered from the record.

A 330d badge is not one engine. Send the VIN and we check the plate against the chassis, the year, and the gearbox, including the sump, the flywheel, and the cooler.
If the unit is the wrong one, we say so. A turned-down sale is better than an engine that will not fit the bay.
Engines are heavy. They go out on a pallet built for a forklift or an engine crane, not for a domestic doorstep. Tell us who will unload it and the day is planned around that.
